Privacy Policy

How we look after the personal information you share with us.

A note for the Trust: this is a plain, honest starting point for a small charity that handles enquiries and (optionally) a newsletter. Please review it — and check the contact details — before it goes live. It is not legal advice.

The House Mill Trust (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what your rights are. We are the data controller for the information you give us.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us — for example, your name, email address and message when you contact us with an enquiry, book a tour, ask about hire or volunteering, or sign up to hear our news.

How we use it

We use your information solely to respond to your enquiry and to provide what you’ve asked for. If you sign up to our newsletter, we’ll use your email only to send you occasional news about the mill, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

We do not sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it with third parties except where we use a reputable service to help us (for example, an email or donations provider), or where we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it to us, and then delete it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. To make any of these requests, please contact us.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and analytics

This website is deliberately simple and does not use tracking or advertising cookies. To understand how the site is used, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and visits without cookies, without tracking you across other websites, and without collecting any personal information.
